AI Maniacs Now Want US To Reward Poor?

Letter to Ephesians: Elon Musk’s strength is NOT politics. WSJ says he’s already signaling to confidants to “put the brakes on” his bright idea of a 3rd Party while his latest brainstorm – shared by other tech geniuses - is to use AI as excuse to GIVE all a “universal basic income.”

The paper’s editors recently opined Musk is “quietly ... telling allies that he wants to focus his attention on his companies and is reluctant to alienate powerful Republicans” by opening his mouth to put his foot in it; instead, it’s suggested Musk will suck up to VP Vance for what it’s worth. Meanwhile, Columnist James Riley recently called out Mr. Tesla & other tech industry titans for proposing various schemes to cover their butts for costing millions their jobs as they make millions off their artificial intelligence products. And, Riley says, they are plugging an “old idea” to do so aka “free money.” As he explained: A Journal report reveals how “tech titans, including Tesla’s Elon Musk and OpenAI’s Sam Altman, envision a ‘massive wealth-redistribution system’ to placate worries over technology displacing human work. Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes have spent millions in recent years on pilot projects that offer unconditional monthly cash payments to low-income people ...”

Whatever happened to the “War on Poverty’s” goal of helping the poor get OFF their generational dependency on the government trough? Riley wonders. He warns: “Be wary of tech moguls preaching supposedly altruistic wealth redistribution schemes to burnish their public image. As with the environmental, social & government advocacy, there’s an agenda beneath the happy talk. Silicon Valley would do better to focus less on some liberal concept of social responsibility & more on innovations that will improve productivity [that] produce profits for shareholders.”
