Letter to Ephesians: David Marcus’s tongue in cheek op ed suggested Joe Biden’s “autopen [is] poised for $10M payday” when it ghostwrites No. 46’s upcoming memoir. But, really. Will Jill or a host of other insiders do for Joe what they did the 4 years of his presidency & write it for him?
The Fox columnist was not holding back his take on Joe’s “take.” He wrote: “When I heard Joe Biden is getting $10 million to pen a memoir which will address his presidency, I thought the same thing you probably did. Is it a coloring book? I mean, come on. First of all, the odds are good that Grandpa Joe cannot remember what he had for breakfast today, much less the detailed doings of the White House for four long years. But also, nobody on Planet Earth thinks this man is capable of writing so much as a thank-you card.” I dunno. I think Joe CAN write a thank-you note. A short one. But, I too doubt Biden has the stamina as well as brain power to pen an autobiography.
Writing ANY book for publication, even a coloring book, takes a lot out of the author. And, writing the history of a president is about as daunting as the task gets. President U.S. Grant would agree. Although dying of an incredibly painful throat cancer, the great Civil War general turned politician worked tirelessly to pen his memoirs just before he mercifully died. And Joe is no Ulysses. If not Joe, then, who? Marcus thinks it’ll be Joe’s “inner circle,” from Jill, Ron Klain, Anthony Bernal, Susan Rice ... and maybe even Hunter will add illustrations. If so, we’ll at least know how THEY ran the country before No. 47.
