Americans Now In “Love” With Cocaine?

Letter to Ephesians: Fact: Some people want to die. An episode of “The Resident” about an alcoholic who couldn’t shake the shakes illustrated the thought. Now we learn “America Loves Cocaine Again” as “Mexico’s New Drug King Cashes In.” Can the “War on Drugs” ever end?

The WSJ coverage amazed me because it revealed how the USA’s crackdown on the fentanyl invasion & overdose crisis “created an opening for ‘El Senor Mencho’ to smuggle cocaine into the US by the ton.” The article summed it up with an almost Hemingway aka romantically scenic anecdote: “From a heavily guarded hideout in the heart of the Sierra Madre, 59-yr-old Nemesio ‘Mencho’ Oseguera’ reigns as the new drug king of Mexico, aided in his ascendance by America’s resurging love of cocaine & the Trump Administration’s escalating war on fentanyl. Oseguera spent decades building his Jalisco New Generation Cartel into a transnational criminal organization fierce enough to forge a new underworld order in Mexico, displacing the Sinaloa cartel, torn by warring factions, as the world’s biggest drug pusher.”

Wait. While Trump’s War on Fentanyl may be working marvelously, you’re telling us let alone suggesting THAT is the key problem & not the gluttony and/or stupidity of American cocaine & other drug aficionados? So, here we go again? Adjust yet again & expand the never-ending war on all narcotics? Legalize the deadly crap & pocket the tax proceeds while letting millions of fools kill themselves slowly but surely? Any other suggestions?
