Beatles’ Long & Winding Road Closure

Letter to Ephesians: The Beatles still inspire us. Hopefully, the GOAT pop song writers’ long & winding road together & apart has closure as Paul let’s past go recalling a “F you, John” moment & the one thing they always needed … LOVE.

Let’s consider the blue-collar Beatles’ friendship & rise was improbable as sell as mercurial. Yet, through it all, they maintained their partnership until their business manager, Brian (The Other) Epstein, died & a suspected sleaze ball almost ruined their post-break up Apple business. Thanks to a Fox News story focusing on Paul’s historical accounting in “Man on the Run,” we learn that He of the Baby Face had sued his pals in 1970 to protect them from themselves & that alleged jerk. Said Paul in the Prime Video documentary available Feb. 27: “I saw through it. The way things were going, Allen Klein [boo] would just swallow up all The Beatles’ fortune … I thought I had to fight it,” & the naiveté of John, George & Ringo.

As it turns out, John et al eventually canned Klein too. Yet, before doing so, he had “written a song dissing MacCartney’s exit from the legendary band, titled, ‘How Do You Sleep?’ with the lyrics, ‘The only thing you done was ‘Yesterday/and since you’re gone you’re just another day.’” The cheap shot stuck in Paul’s craw all these years since: “The only thing you did was ‘Yesterday’ was apparently Klein’s suggestion … But … ‘If all I ever did was ‘Yesterday,’ ‘Let It Be,’ ‘Long & Winding Road,’ ‘Eleanor Rigby,’ ‘Lady Madonna’ … F you, John. How do I sleep at night? Well, quite well.” And yet, like John’s iconic love song, Paul confessed, “I loved him, you know. I loved all the guys.” Again, it’s all they had ever needed.
