Letter to Ephesians: Elon Musk & VP Vance called out Dems for the “big lie” about violent crime being “systemic” rather than about the relatively few criminals & insane people among us. The fix is to get the broken off our streets asap & we already know how it works ...
You may recall the anti-crime “Broken Windows” movement during the 1990s that proved remarkably well in slashing crime in our biggest cities. The common sense idea was to concentrate police & social services into high crime areas so that the public’s response to the early signs of crime (like graffiti, littering, urinating & loitering) was swift & head on. The gangbangers, drug dealers, illegal aliens, homeless insane & their political woke allies hated it because it worked to devastate their “business” or “right” to not be targeted by police doing their job. The concept was the brainstorm of James Wilson & George Kelling in a 1982 article & put to the test under NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani. EBSCO documented big drops in violent & property crime rates. Other cities following the lead got results. BUT Democrats & MSM allies like NPR railed against the “lack of evidence.” Instead, progressives claimed only such obscure notions as “Social Justice” & (today’s) “Sanctuary Cities" would solve the crime crisis. Three decades later, how has that worked out?
As VP Vance concluded on X: “The big lie the Democrats told about violent crime is that it’s ‘systemic’ & no one’s really responsible. If the ‘system’ is to blame then you fund a bunch of nonprofits (they control) that don’t do anything besides give jobs to underqualified radicals. The reality is that the gross majority of violent crime is committed by a very small group of people & we should be throwing them in prison (or insane asylums).”
