Can of Worms Hormuz No Can of Ham

Letter to Romans: The Iranian women who defied Tehran in refusing to sing the terrorist Republic’s national anthem must now live in a safe house to avoid assassination. It’s another reason No. 47 must continue to defang this brutal regime. And, oh, the WIN must now include a free Hormuz.
The WSJ editorial board was right in urging President Trump to “Fight to Win” in Iran as he’d promised because to let the Islamic rulers off the hook prematurely … so they can continue their reign of terror … will only guarantee further outrages by it. After all, the Journal’s Kimberley Strassel opined, Mr. Trump had prepared the nation, its allies & the world for the fight: “That the US was finally in a position to disarm Iran is largely thanks to a plan Mr. Trump initiated in his first term – to gain energy independence, which his team is now turning into energy dominance. So, “no longer hostage to Middle East fossil-fuel threats,” Strassel concluded, we now have “room to weather temporary Hormuz disruptions.”
Thank you, Kimberley. As Democrats & scaredy cats whine about the predictable spike in gas prices at the homeland pumps, President Trump has reminded it was not only expected, but prices after victory over the hostage takers will be cheaper than ever. And the idea pushed by some partisans that our military was “taken by surprise” by the Iranians’ ability to clog that short narrow waterway through which a large percentage of oil must pass, is as foolish. The early demolition of the Iranian navy, including many of its mine laying crafts, says so. Not to say the Iranians’ counterpunch is toothless. Quite the opposite. Tactics & strategy ALWAYS must be adjusted in war. Ask General Grant. Today, the editors concluded, “It means reopening the Strait and reducing Iran’s veto power over its traffic will now have to be a goal” and by whatever means needed. Again, as Mr. Trump has repeatedly said, “the US shouldn’t fight wars we don’t intend to win.” It’s just that “winning” now must include reopening the Strait of Hormuz and PERMANENTLY keeping it open.
