Child Trafficking Is a Quiet Malignant Cancer

Letter to Ephesians: There’s controversy over whether thousands of children being trafficked in the USA each year are mostly citizens or illegal immigrants, but all agree gov’t & NFP stats compiled are only a “fraction” of reality. Promised Jesus: Woe to those responsible. So, where’s the outrage?
“Trafficking” of children has various definitions but at least it usually has to do with sexual or labor exploitation of minors as well as the buying or selling of them. It's not that “the problem” hasn’t long been recognized. Back in 2017, as part of her role as advisor to the president, First Lady Ivanka Trump, made federal anti-child trafficking efforts a highest priority. And hardly a year goes by since without some horror story issued by the feds or concerned not-for-profit organizations relating how extensively it goes on right under our noses. In fact, we’re often told the Internet has greased the crime for traffickers as online seductions are exploding. Yet, after the reports & studies are published, there’s typically a deafening silence in the public that follows, at least, until the next trafficking bust is picked up in the newspapers.
Of course, the entire nightmare runs deep, complicated by psychology, family dynamics, politics, legal rights or liabilities, limited law enforcement resources, financial rewards heaped on the traffickers and the resourcefulness of the criminals themselves. But there’s one consequence that was guaranteed more than 2K years ago for the perpetrators … AND to those who turn a blind eye to them: “… If anyone causes one of [my] little ones to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck & to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Any parable needed to clarify?
