Democracy Via Lax LA & CA Voting Rules

Letter to Romans: LA Mayor’s fixed Cheshire Cat grin & city’s recent primary results that took days to tabulate suggest it was rigged. Lost to voters is that it guarantees LA’s downward plunge into homelessness, drug addiction & exodus of fed-up citizens…

That, at least, is what the WSJ suggested in its op ed assessing the election process for the entire state, “Is California’s Election ‘Rigged’?” The editors conceded, “There’s no evidence of fraud so far, but the state’s lax voting rules create openings for it.” Same, of course, goes for that great city of Los Angeles. While not entirely agreeing with No. 47 who claims “fraud whenever he loses an election,” the paper’s brain trust insists, Trump "has a point that the state’s Democrats have designed a leaky election system to juice their votes.” The editors call out “California’s sloth-like pace of counting ballots & a marked shift in the LA mayoral race since Election Day … prompted a social-media outburst by the President” & others. We all know by now that Republican wanna-be LA mayor, Spencer Pratt, was comfortably in second place on election night behind the grinning Mayor Karen Bass, but a week later lost a near double digit lead over a left-wing council woman, Nithya Raman, after tens of thousands of “mail in” votes were belatedly counted.

The PROBLEMS? ALL Californians are sent mail in ballots that don’t have to be returned until Election Day to send them back via snail mail. Folks can also register on Election Day itself & of course it can take weeks to “verify” they aren’t dead, especially with lax voter ID rules. Voters can also vote in person anywhere in their county further needing verification of ID. Then, there’s vote “harvesting” by the always "trustworthy & unbiased" unions, campaigns & political parties. There’s much more, but you get the picture. Meanwhile, does anybody care about LA's or CA's brutal decline?
