Letter to Ephesians: We’re told the radicalized Democrats are “furious” & “eating their own” cause 8 of them had the audacity to put the nation first by voting to end the shutdown & stop the bleeding. News flash: The new “Crazy 8” are heroes.

I’m not going to remind the bitching & radicalized Democratic Party that it took an unselfish Lincoln moment to save the nation now – that is, it was Abe before the Civil War who once gave up a sure shot to be appointed Illinois’ U.S. Senator so a terrible compromise in Congress over slavery could be defeated. But I will share the time I was a lawyer in the Land of Lincoln and close to one of the Democrat Senators who was a leader of 8 so-called radicals who united to gain leverage over a hopelessly divided state legislature. They were called the “Crazy 8” because they had the temerity to buck the Chicago Democratic Machine & GOP on controversial issues if they thought it was for the common good.

Fast forward to the federal shutdown’s sudden shutdown. As the AP and other MSM outlets reported, the 8 Democrat Senators who belatedly voted with the GOP majority to end the record-breaking stalemate over the annual budget were vilified by “some of the most prominent voices in the Democratic Party” for their “pathetic … betrayal …” They are Jeanne Shaheen of NH, Dick Durbin of Ill, Tim Kaine of Va, Maggie Hassan of NH, Angus King of Maine, Jacky Rosen of Nv, Catherine Cortez Masto of Nv and John Fetterman of Pa. Truth is, these pols are heroes in the Lincolnian tradition who, at least at this crucial moment in history, were courageous if not crazy enough to still know their first duty is to the country. So who are the "rebels" or “traitors”?
