Did Trump Already “Win” the Peace?

Letter to Ephesians: WSJ challenged No. 47 to make his “Cease-Fire” a history-making achievement by making Iran “let in the IAEA” to test its nuclear program & to “drop its forever war.” But the editors were trumped when Trump said he’d just bomb ‘em again, if needed. Game over?

Not that the paper’s editorial board wasn’t right in suggesting President Trump’s remarkable feat of threading the needle in the Iran-Israel 12 Day War must be vigorously followed up to have lasting meaning. Yet, what’s surprising is the usually savvy editors defaulted to the Old School of Naivete Diplomacy by arguing yet another “deal” as outlined above must be forged & is THE acid test that the President must now pass. At first, the editors’ one-two punch lines sound reasonable. That is, until it’s remembered the Iranian Regime is made up of religious fanatics & dedicated terrorists whose word can NEVER be trusted because it's NEVER been trustworthy since their 1979 revolution. As for the UN’s watch dogs, they have been dogs at doing their job. The Israeli Massad is far better at assessing such nuclear intrigue. Presumably, so is the US’s far-flung intelligence community, especially with the aid of today’s advanced star wars technology at its disposal.

Yet all of the above considerations seemed to become moot when a reporter asked Trump at the NATO conference in the Netherlands what he’d do if Iran started to rebuild its nuclear program to weapons grade. A surprised Trump said matter of factly he’d take it out AGAIN. Note, he separately noted, there’s no longer a need for a “nuke deal” with Iran, presumably for the same reason. Put another way, as fanatic & hell bent the zealot Iranians are, so is the US President when it comes to nuclear proliferation. An Iranian nuke ain’t gonna happen under his watch. Yes. Game over.
