Did Trump Just Trip Into Peacemaker HOF?

You probably won’t hear THAT irony expressed in the naysayer MSM. And, that second "if" is a big IF since Putin will likely continue to play hard ball while Euros play their usual soft ball. Yet, there simply is no denying that there’s no Democrat or EU personality who could have gotten bitter enemies Putin and Zelensky this far toward any kind of a peace talk. And with the Euros finally getting off their duffs and directly involved, albeit as cheerleaders, it almost assures the next round of talks will HAVE to include some consideration of “security guarantees” from Russia in return for whatever. Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is again carrying the REST of Trump’s water by wisely shooting down booby-trapped reports that Trump had backed Putin’s goal of taking over Ukraine’s coveted eastern Donbas region to get that security concession.

What it all comes down to, the WSJ editors suggested over the weekend, is that peace is still an iffy proposition at best; yet, who’d a thunk just a week ago that nearly every leader in Europe that mattered would be coming to US soil (including Putin) to try to come to terms with one another so a WW III isn’t started by them (ala WW I and WW II).
