Does He Said She Said Say The Wrong Thing?

Letter to Romans: Arguably it’s time to revisit the circus triggered by Congress’ release of the Epstein Files & its refusal to do same with its own Sex Misconduct Reports. There’s got to be a better way to protect the innocent. Because how many good family men would risk getting elected to serve today…or women risk working for them?

Is there any wonder we now have so many incompetents in Congress? And why they seem to be coming out of the woodwork like nested field mice? Perverts getting away with harassment is a criminal bitch & unacceptable. But if the Epstein & Congress free-for-alls have shown us anything it’s to watch what you wish for. As the WSJ recently noted, the Epstein dump resulted in untold people losing their jobs, even careers, over unproven allegations. We also know the legacy as well as social media again exploded as 357 members of Congress voted to block the release of sexual misconduct report and slush fund, er, insurance policy used to pay off alleged victims. Most critics bitterly insisted “the public has a right to know.” But what has the public learned after MILLIONS of Epstein documents have been released and the King & Queen of the Artful Dodge (Bill & Hillary Clinton) have now “testified” clearly as mud YEARS later?

So, what’s the “better way” other than the court system set up by the Founding Fathers and painstakingly balanced Rule of Law enunciated by the US Supreme Court over two centuries? As imperfect as all that obviously is in protecting folks’ privacy AND safety, it’s not unreasonable to conclude it’s better than the online vigilante system of justice we’re now experiencing … and Congress is fretting over. Might one solution, albeit a forever imperfect one, lie in pushing for, then, monitoring, the better execution of the law by duly appointed law enforcement, prosecutors and judges? Could be wrong of course. But who’s come up so far with a more realistic way to fairly adjudicate the “He said, She said” dilemma?
