Hi-Crime DC Gets Taste of Trump’s Grapeshot?

Letter to Ephesians: President Trump deployed the National Guard, then, took control of Metro Police to restore order in DC. He’ll be villified by the left & Democrat judges may enjoin him. But, missed by most isn’t whether a war like “crisis” exists, but reality that criminals abound while police can’t be found.

So it seems, anyway. The recent assault on a former DOGE staffer in Logan Circle was simply the latest example of how brazen criminals here have become, largely because even in prime real estate areas like Logan, the police presence doesn’t seem to exist. Blame the woke progressives’ “Defund the Police” movement for one. Then blame the local courts for their “catch & release” cop out and/or repeatedly letting repeat offenders out of custody with little or no bail and slap on the wrist sentences even when a rare case goes to trial.

I lived for the past 10 years in DC & its suburbs. I never got punched let alone robbed. Yet, there are whole swaths

of real estate in town I wouldn’t dare walk through in daylight let alone at night. Working & living around the State Department Complex, I sometimes heard ambulances rushing people to the nearest hospital two or three times each hour. A DC resident insisted during an interview the other day that his city was “safe” yet he wouldn’t tell the reporter his name because he feared reprisals. DC’s mayor will likewise insist “serious crime is down” while ignoring it was at record levels & her team keeps “tweaking” the definition of “serious crime” so she can brag that serious crime is down. Secretary Hegseth seemed to grasp the real & most immediate issue when he promised Trump’s national guards will soon be seen patrolling the city’s worst neighborhoods.
