Israel Dreams of Ending Iran’s Dream

Letter to Ephesians: Israel’s President Herzog plainly challenged “the World” to help his isolated country “get the G****** nukes out of Tehran’s hands,” not just delay or postpone it thru endless talks. Put another way, Herzog kindly asked others to put up or shut up like Israel has.
Perhaps most compelling was Herzog’s plea on a Fox News broadcast for a “unified” globe to shoot for real change that leads to real peace. What is needed, he suggested, is a different mindset. “We should think about the day after,” Herzog urged. “I am confident and I trust the U.S. administration for moving forward with plans. But for that we all have to show unanimity in our cause and objective to make sure that Iran does not have nuclear weapons.” While Israel’s Operation Rising Lion likely “prevents Iran from being on the doorstep of Europe with a huge nuclear program” for the time being, the WSJ reports Israeli officials concede that, despite its several punishing days of bombarding Iran’s military complex, it’s still a long way from eradicating that nation’s terrorizing dream of having an atomic capability.
Without saying it, however, Herzog still appears realistic enough to know Israel is in this latest fight with Iran mostly alone; that is, save for the moral and financial as well as the defensive logistical and technological support it’s getting from America. “We share joint national security interests on many fields,” he noted, “but the American administration will take its decisions, and Israel will take its decisions.” Alas, also left unsaid, is Herzog’s likely unmentionable wish that President Trump would find a way to lose one of his bunker busting bombs that somehow fell into Israeli hands (and that he might consult with China on how to do that in order to change the playing field for good.)
