It Took Two to Riot on Jan. 6 & After?

Letter to Ephesians: First, we learned Biden’s FBI had more agents in the Jan. 6 crowd than you could shake a stick at. Now, it’s alleged Joe’s FBI “went so far in its investigation of the Capitol riot as to obtain telephone call records of 9 GOP reps & senators.” If true, then, who really rioted?

The WSJ editors recently concluded that Ex-special counsel Jack Smith “has some explaining to do.” They wondered out loud, “Was [Biden’s appointee] looking for evident to indict a few GOP lawmakers?” If so, the lawfare gone wild accusations & condemnations coming from the right would be more than justified. And even left-leaning historians would have to conclude there’s no precedent for that extreme kind of abuse of power. Note, the “source of this revelation is Sen. Chuck Grassley’s inquiry into the FBI’s Arctic Frost investigation of Jan. 6.” Apparently, a document he’s released shows an FBI agent got a hold of “toll records” for GOP Rep Mike Kelly as well as 8 GOP senators and presumably “analyzed” them to build a case of sedition against them. The fact that a grand jury, acting on Smith’s request, approved of the cheap shot, condemns more than exonerates Smith of the dirty deed. Said Grassley: “There’s no predicate that we can find for the solicitation of these telephone records, which I think emphasizes the political weaponization that was behind all this effort ...”

You think? Recall that eventually, Smith got the grand jury to indict Trump for allegedly trying to “hack the Electoral College on Jan. 6 by submitting ‘fraudulent electors.’” The WSJ opines, “It isn’t farfetched to think the FBI might have been trolling for evidence to [also] charge one or more GOP lawmakers with obstruction or another crime.” And, while the Trump electoral tactics may have been tacky, they say, “there’s [at least] a historical precedent for alternative slates of electors, as the law recognized.” In contrast, what’s Smith’s excuse? If none comes to mind, perhaps Team Biden was rioting as bad as the capitol rioters after all?
