Lack of Cops in Murder Inc Is A Crime

Letter to Ephesians: The painfully obvious “solution” to violent crime is Trump’s “more cops” if not soldiers but it would also be nice of course for Congress to wisely & adequately address the root causes of gangs taking advantage of other folks’ poverty ...
The WSJ piece by Jason Riley alluded to “complicated” realities yet understanding the president getting the “basic point right”: “A 2005 academic paper on policing in Washington found that ‘an increase in police presence of about 50% leads to a statistically & economically significant decrease in crime on the order of 15%’ while a U of Penn 2016 study put the figure at 43-73%. Fast forward to this past month as Trump’s mobilization of the national guard in DC nearly wiped-out murders there.” While the WSJ in a related op ed calls Chicago’s Brandon “Defund the Police” Johnson the nation’s “worst mayor,” Riley gives him a left-handed credit for “trying to change the subject” by arguing violent crime in his city would plummet if adequate housing & jobs were given the city’s poor. Hello, Mr. Mayor, the Democrats have RULED
your city since WWII only to notch the nation’s highest murder rate for 13 straight years AND ...?
The WSJ’s editorial “Trump, Troops & the Mayhem in Chicago” may have summed the IMMEDIATE debate best by agreeing with columnist Riley, i.e., Trump is “making DC safer,” but short of an all-out riot, “his power elsewhere [to] use the National Guard is limited under the law.” Perhaps what’s poignant at this stage is the deafening silence from Congress about the admittedly worst mayor in the USA’s worrying about also doing something about poverty ... AND HIS GANGS & CARTELS THAT RULE CHICAGO’S STREETS.
