LaMonica Moans Over ICE & Dem Jurist Groans

Letter to Ephesians: Recall vids of Dems storming an ICE facility on pretext they had a right to check on alien detainees. A federal judge rejected Rep. LaMonica McIver’s motion to dismiss indictments for obstruction because her alleged boorish behavior wasn’t protected or related to any oversight duty.

As GW Law Professor Jonathan Turley opined, the Democrat pol can appeal the trial judge’s ruling but fat chance it will succeed: “Judge Jamel Semper is a Biden appointee who previously served as a federal prosecutor” and the “ruling is clearly correct” in denying the claim Democrats have a right to enter any ICE facility at any time as a matter of oversight. Added the professor, she had been warned, but ignored, that her “extreme argument echoed by Democratic members and pundits” was a losing proposition.

McIver still insists the indictments were “politically motivated.” Regardless, if convicted, she faces up to 17 years in prison. assuming she'll now go to trial, she’ll have to sweat it out in explaining her “right” to allegedly “slam her forearm into an agent attempting to arrest a local mayor also storming the ICE facility, and using “each of her forearms" to later again “forcibly strike” another agent. In sum, Rep McIver might do better playing Guard for the Washington Redskins than Tackle for Team Aliens.
