Pope & Priest vs Jihadists & Woke Voters

Letter to Ephesians: It’s good Pope Leo called out jihadist violence & warned of ‘Orwellian-style’ ideology eroding free speech in the West. But here’s also to a Spanish parish priest who went viral for challenging his own flock to vote like a Christian rather than a woke atheist.

Regardless of accuracy, the translated post by Carlos Ramirez & the homily the parish priest is said to have given to his congregation is especially timely in today’s weaponized politics … and arguably long overdue. In short, the priest was said to have exhorted common folks to “choose their political representatives consistent with their religious convictions & the Catholic Church’s teachings." Here’s the heart of his message:

“It is no use to pray like a Christian but vote like an atheist. They pray for life but vote for candidates who are in favor of abortion. They pray for God to free the church from persecution in communist countries but vote for communist candidates or those who support [Marxism]. They pray asking God for the expansion of the gospel but vote for candidates who want to close churches. They pray for family but vote for candidates who defend ideologies that destroy the family. The pray for their children, but in elections vote for candidates who defend pedophiles and gender ideology. They pray for God to free young people from drugs but vote for candidates who are in favor of … legalizing them. It is of no use to pray like a Christian but vote like an atheist.” Could Pope Leo have said it better?
