Letter to Ephesians: While politicians everywhere are joining the Gerrymander Wars, the real Congressional map & election game changer unfolding before their eyes is the irrepressible population shift from blue to red states by the end of the decade ...
The WSJ’s editorial board was blunt in the above assessment: The real “nightmare” scenario for Democrats is that they “could lose 10 seats in 2030.” They explain: “California Gov. Gavin Newsom is promising a referendum in November to gerrymander five more Democratic House seats on top of the 43 of 52 they already have in the state. Even if it works, his victory may be short-lived. The real problem for Democrats is that progressive policies are driving population flight ... one of the great stories of the age ... which on current trend could cost their states 10 House seats after 2030.” Think high taxes, ever higher living costs, chaos in the streets and lousy schools. What’s not to hate? Especially if the local Sanctuary City’s major league sports teams suck?
Nor do the numbers lie, the editors add: “Between 2020 and 2024, California (-1.46M), NY (-966,209), Illinois (- 418,056) lost the population equivalent of Kansas to other states. Texas (+747,730) and Florida (872,722) gained the equivalent of West Va." It goes on. But, the message is clear. More & more folks don’t want to live in progressives’ filth and are finding they don’t have to.
