Pro-Gang Chicago Claims “Idiot Mayor” Title?

Letter to Ephesians: Sanctuary Cities DC, NYC & LA have worked hard to gain reputations for having “Idiot Mayors” but Sweet Home Chicago’s Brandon Johnson claimed the title by vetoing a new teen aka gangbanger curfew ordinance to disperse late-night “gatherings” by out-of-control punks.

As the WSJ op ed noted, “Chicago’s Brandon Johnson isn’t America’s worst mayor for nothing. He works hard at it.” Somehow, his genius and moral righteousness saw through the city council’s measure that was “intended to keep children safe,” and vetoed it because (drum roll) he won’t support “a policy that we already know historically leads to criminalization and incarceration ... Why on God’s green earth would I actually repeat the sins of those who came before us?” Imagine that on God’s green earth. Johnson won’t stand for arresting criminals terrorizing Chicago’s streets late at night. Never mind, as the editorial board reminded, “violence and public disorder have plagued Chicago in recent years as tent cities sprawled and crime crested.”

Meanwhile, while Johnson insists violent crime is “down” after record highs, the editors recalled Chicago’s “permissive crime environment has led to more incidents of wilding among teenagers, and with tragic consequences. In March a 15-yr-old boy was shot in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood during a teen takeover. In 2023 two people were shot and 15 arrested when a teen mob took over downtown.” Save your breath. Mayor Johnson lives in a City of God.
