Senators Serve Mayo Impeachment Burger

Senators Graham & Cruz tell DHS Sec Mayorkas he’s on notice for possible impeachment over open border crisis & largely ignored humanitarian disaster there. But, if so, how could the Boss, No. 46, not also be put on notice?

The two senators told Fox News they sent a letter to Mayorkas this week mincing few words while citing disturbing statistics compiled by Customs & Border Protection. In short, they argue the crisis at the southern border had deteriorated so badly under the Secretary’s watch since he took office 19 months ago that it amounted to a “gross dereliction of duty and a violation of your oath of office.” According to the CBP, for instance, there have been “over 4.4 million illegal crossings, including over 3.5 million apprehensions by CBP and at least 900,000 gotaways, who evaded apprehension.” Meanwhile, in addition to the record illegal crossings, the Senators accused Mayorkas of enabling a drug production and smuggling enterprise by Mexican cartels with China-supplied drugs that contribute to the “fentanyl-fueled” opioid pandemic that killed 108,000 Americans last year.”

Both Graham & Cruz serve on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which would lead such an impeachment threat, should the GOP retake the Senate in November. But, how could the Senators give a left-handed pass to President Biden and VP Harris, both of whom have never toured the border wall and have also insisted the border is ”secure”?
