Sotomayor Loses Her Argument & Mind

Letter to Ephesians: The depth of progressive rot reached the bowels of the Supreme Court as Justice Sonia Sour Grapes Sotomayor foolishly endorsed “judicial mutiny” after the majority wisely intervened to overrule a “rogue district court judge” who refused to follow its ban on universal TROs.

As the WSJ’s editorial board concluded, Sotomayor’s dissenting position from a 7-2 Supreme Court rebuke of the rogue judge would have harmed the judiciary. “Are lower courts obliged to heed rulings from the Supreme Court?” the editors pretended to ask. “The answer seems obvious, but not to some judges and apparently not to two members of the Supreme Court.” Just days earlier, the Court had stayed a federal judge’s injunction of the Trump Administration’s plan to deport to South Sudan 8 men convicted of violent crimes. The order, the WSJ noted, “lets the Administration resume sending illegal migrants to countries other than their own, pending appeal on the legal merits to the First Circuit Court of Appeals.” Yet, hours later, the rogue jurist announced the 8 men were still protected from removal by his original injunction & insisted it “remains in full force and efffect notwithstanding today’s stay...”

Opined the editors: “That sure looks like willful resistance to a Supreme Court order.” How stupid does stupid get? Apparently, as stupid as Sotomayor’s dissent from the majority’s swift rebuke to the rogue judge; one that even flaming liberal Justice Kagan would not fall for. Sotomayor didn’t bother to address the fundamental legal Q & A at hand & instead (along with Justice Jackson) whined how the majority was WRONG for having intervened in the case. The WSJ zinger: “It’s obvious ... that Justices Sotomayor & Jackson are frustrated to be on the losing side in big cases. But their day for being in the majority more frequently may come. When it does, they will be glad the current majority understands the need to maintain the High Court’s authority.”
