Stupidity of Shadow Cheap Shots by Justices

Letter to Romans: It doesn’t amount to treason. But liberals on or working for the US Supreme Court are now openly impugning the integrity of the High Court in “opinions” & “leaks” while Democrats are going bonkers with unhinged schemes to pack it with a liberal majority.
As George Washington Law Prof. Jonathan Turley recently called out one bizarre scheme, it didn’t “take long … [for a Bill Kristol (who? to cite] … California & Virginia gerrymandering efforts as support for packing the Supreme Court … [his] reasoning is enough to give you vertigo unless you are part of the left spin: ‘Expanding the Supreme Court is no different than redistricting in California and Virginia. It is a proportionate response to Republican attempts to degrade liberal democracy.’” But the rationalizing of libs inside the Court’s hallowed halls takes an a more sinister than political turn, suggest the WSJ, in its op ed, “A Shadowy Leaker at the Supreme Court.” The down & dirty: “Leaked memos create a false narrative to tarnish the current Justices.” It seems Chief Justice Roberts has responded to several unconstitutional moves by Democrats who haven’t gotten their way in Congress or the lower courts by a so-called “Shadow Docket.” Actually, the editors suggest, it’s hardly a secret or new for today’s conservative majority to block likely illegal actions by partisan pols until the Justices have time to sort out how crazy the schemes are & to prevent irreversible harm. Wasn’t the pre-emptive pause order in vogue when the High Court majority was liberal?
It was Mollie Hemingway in The Federalist who put a personal two-face on the left’s battle plan. She argued “now you’re starting to see some of the liberal Supreme Court justices ‘impugn the integrity of the court or even go after colleagues personally.’” She noted how Justice Sotomayor, for example, had to apologize to Justice Kavanaugh for her recent statement in an immigration stop case that he was someone with a privileged background who didn’t understand hourly workers’ plight. No, none of this is treason, just stupid.
