Trump Can’t Afford Affordability Issue

Letter to Ephesians: Trump is right in saying many of his policies have helped cut Biden’s runaway inflationary ones. BUT, regardless, polls are warning as mid-term elections approach the high cost of living, esp in health care & groceries, is still unacceptable.

If Mr. Trump was expecting a “thank you” from the electorate for his Herculean efforts in his first 10 months of his second term as POTUS and demonstrable improvements on numerous fronts, he may have needed help in getting a reality check. The WSJ tried to oblige in reporting a few days after the 2025 state elections that went mostly the Democrats’ way: “Republicans in Washington got a clear takeaway – Focus on the high cost of living or risk big losses in next year’s midterms.” In other coverage, the newspaper alarmingly noted the “President isn’t convinced … [and] … dismisses affordability concerns, insists prices are coming down.” In a related Fox News story, however, Mr. Trump more pointedly demanded on Truth Social that the runaway cost of health care insurance be addressed by Senate Republicans “abolishing Obamacare and rerouting federal health care spending directly to individual Americans.”

If nothing else, the latter Obamacare proposal suggests the president really DID get the electoral message and DOES realize the “affordability” issue is a clear and present danger politically as well as economically.
