Trump & Musk Borrow Bogey’s Punch Line

Letter to Ephesians: The unexpected truce between No. 47 and Elon Musk not only brought two unlikely soulmates together but may be “America’s secret weapon in its global technology race” against Communist China. All it took to rekindle the duo’s bromance was for a Casablanca ending ...

Tanvi Ratna suggested as much in a persuasive op ed in Fox News, which argued that the “President’s economic vision paired with tech mogul’s industrial might positions US to outpace China in the technology race.” And don’t think Musk’s apology for going overboard “with some of [his] statements” isn’t timely, Ratna added, and not just because it calmed the markets. More importantly, we’re told, the CCP has very much become a global power in the technology space and that’s one race the USA dare not lose.

Fortunately, Ratna opines, America is still in a strong position and explains: “The American edge has never been top-down coordination [as it is in CCP] -- it’s been bottom-up ingenuity. We don’t centralize. We compete. And when the right ideas meet the right builder, we move faster than anyone. Musk is that builder. Right now, he’s the engine room of American industry. And President Trump has signaled he’s willing to let bygones be bygones. In doing so, he must have recalled that both he and Musk never did see eye to eye on everything. Nor should they. But the shared team spirit and mutual passion to beat the chop sticks off the CCP should be a Bogey- like “beautiful relationship” from here on out. As Trump might say to Musk as they walk off arm in arm into the sunset, “Here’s looking at you, kid.”
