Letter to Ephesians: A respected doctor recently warned of “2 simple food mistakes that increase chronic disease risk,” i.e., drinking just fruit juice instead of real deal & eating fried aka breaded chicken. No MD, I have 2 more: Inhaling crapola snacks & chugging booze til you snooze…
The Fox News report extensively quoted Dr. Frank Dumont, executive medical director of Virta Health in Colorado, who reminds “nutrition can be the key to warding off disease – even devastating conditions like cancer. He went on to talk about the above “2 diet swaps” that alone can help combat a startling increase in diseases in the last several decades, like obesity, diabetes, autoimmune diseases and cancers. “We know food is a big part of that … our diet has changed dramatically over the past few decades,” he said. Especially noteworthy are the proliferation of processed foods we are eating on a daily basis, which have been linked to an increase in insulin and inflammation. While no two people are alike, Dr. Dumont advises a lot of health risks can be immediately lowered simply by “choosing real fruit over fruit juice” and “opting out of breaded chicken.”
Dr. Soul respectfully suggests all that’s largely common sense. But, let’s face it, he adds, the obvious hasn’t stopped millions from smoking like chimneys right up to their early grave, while millions more are headed in that direction by stuffing their fat faces with nearly worthless snacks and fast foods, no matter what the marketing people aka purveyors of death tell us on those commercials. Concluded the Good Soulful MD, “To live longer & get stronger, run like hell and a ring in a bell … from that breaded chicken sandwich.”
