When Jesus Talked, He Washed Doubt Away

Letter to Romans: Some say, “today’s religion’s too abstract & doesn’t tell it like it is.” They oft cite Jesus’ delivering His message of salvation via parables. But didn’t earthly Jesus face like criticism & He clearly, succinctly told it like it was to those with “ears to hear”?
This revelation of Jesus’ blunt, in your face talk, may come to many of us while studying Jesus’ words as recorded in many passages of the Gospels, that is, if read in context & without cherry picking along the journey. Take Jesus’ explanation of the “Sower” parable’s meaning in Matthew:
“When anyone hears the message about the kingdom & does not understand it, the evil one comes & snatches away what was sown in his heart, this is the seed sown along the path. The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word & at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word he quickly falls away. The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life & the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word & understands it. He produces as crop, yielding a hundred sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Could He have gotten any more explicit than that, at least, with eyes to see & ears to hear?
