Who’s Got the Stomach for Ongoing Shutdown?

Letter to Ephesians: As the federal shutdown continues with no end in sight & worker lay-offs begin, it’s becoming clear President Trump is positioned to cut gobs of fat from past progressive spending pig outs. Will No. 47 stick to the diet?
Given the Democratic Party’s obvious caving in to its radical left wing on that ObamaCare fiasco, er, issue, Mr. Trump’s will power to suck it in as well is the Big Q now. If he does, Mehek Cooke rightly argues in a Fox op ed, this shutdown presents the chance to “do something no president has ever done.” That is, to finally cut the ever-expanding $38 TRILLION national debt and the ridiculously bloated bureaucracy helping to fuel it.
The Congressional Democrats led by Sen. Schumer & Rep. Jeffries are apparently gambling Trump will NOT stay the course. Columnist Cooke thinks otherwise: “President Donald Trump, the negotiator-in-chief, isn’t blinking. He’s swinging the axe at bloated, Democrat-run bureaucracies that have taken trillions from hardworking Americans for decades.” Cooke notes how Trump is freezing $25 billion in “blue state-pork, halting green-energy pet projects and directing departments to prepare reduction-in-force plans.” OMB reportedly confirms federal layoffs have begun. Cooke says the Swamp is calling all this “chaos” while Team Trump is calling it long overdue “accountability” to the American taxpayers. Final Q: Who’s got the toughest stomach?
