WSJ: Drop the One Big Beautiful Bomb

Letter to Ephesians: WSJ has urged Trump to “help Israel enforce his own red lines against Iran’s nuclear program,” meaning drop the big one on its mountain hideout. At stake, they argue is not just deterring a terrorist state from dropping the big one on LA but deterring more CCP & Russian warfare.

But, an isolationist on the right or left might retort, that would trigger another Iraq/Afghanistan commitment of boots on the ground. Not so, the editors answer, since USA is weighing the use of just “One Big Beautiful Bomb” to wipe out Iran’s obvious nuclear ambitions. But, haven’t the Iranian mullahs warned that any such direct help to Israel would mean they’d unleash ballistic missiles upon our troops stationed in the Middle East? What else is new, the editors answer, since they’ve already not only been rattling their saber at US troops now in harm’s way but have been killing them since the Iranian Revolution nearly 50 years ago through their terrorist proxies.

Yet, the editorial board suggests, the stakes for America are MUCH greater than little ‘ol Iranians defecating all over their own back yard. The only way to “reverse Biden’s Afghan legacy,” they insist, is to SHOW the world with deeds that “deterrence through strength” is real. They concluded: “If the US won’t help one of its strongest & most loyal allies finish the job of eliminating Iran’s nuclear threat in uncontested air space, the message to China will be that there is no chance the US will defend Taiwan. Everyone will see it – from the Kremlin’s commissars to the Communist bosses in Beidaihe.”
