Bear Down Caleb, Urlacher Knows U Pain, Politics
Letter to Romans: Brian Urlacher “rips Colin Kaepernick,” says woke “protests wouldn’t have flown in his locker room”? Yet Bears’ legendary linebacker backs 2026 QB Caleb Williams vs mockery he got for his reaction to ham pull & being carted off field?
And why not? True, few horrified Bears fans can forget Williams’ going down like a ton of bricks without being touched much by a pursuing Viking bent on his annihilation. One second eyeing the end zone for a game winning TD, the next minute their heralded if not “miracle worker” was lying on a stretcher with a towel covering his presumably weeping eyes. It seemed like a Fatima moment as Windy City fandom’s eyes lifted skyward in unison in hopes the rain clouds would part, the sun would start spinning & Caleb’s eyes would be dried. It almost seemed a miracle when the stricken QB suddenly half-resurrected what had been his lifeless prostrate body to give all a pump fist worthy of Lazarus. Then, the coup de gras happened. Next day, the team listed Williams’ injury as a grade 2 “hamstring pull” and “day-to-day” for the next game against (gulp) the hungry Eagles on MNF. Huh? How times have changed! If Williams’ ham wasn’t all that bad, Urlacher in his playing days would have called the injury a “Charlie horse” & Williams a “P***y” for not getting his a** back in the huddle to call the next play. Well, maybe not ...
Anyone who’s had ANY kind of hamstring pull knows how painful it is to even try to move on it, let alone allude a marauding Viking. It can be season-ending. Urlacher knows this. Hence his empathy for the injured QB. He’s also one of the smartest & politically savvy LBs to ever play the game. Surely, Urlacher grasps the mental illness of Kaepernick & the far-left radicals. For instance, as related by Outkick, Urlacher had assured the Craig Carton Show listeners that Kaepernick’s infamous NFL anthem kneeling would have been a “line in the sand” if they had shared a Chicago Bears locker room together. So, why hasn’t he called out Williams, as many online experts did, when seen on that MNF broadcast casually pacing the sidelines as Mariachi Herencia de Mexico played the National Anthem? Maybe, unlike the expert online critics, Urlacher knows the difference between a purposely hurtful woke protest & a hurting QB subconsciously dodging the team’s fumbled mariachi Anthem. BTW: What’s up with Iran today?
