Book on VP Vance’s POTUS Hopes Turns a Page?

Letter to Philippians: JD Vance is arguably the most articulate VP since Teddy Roosevelt but are his Iran & Ukraine misreads looking like a Thanksgiving turkey that needs further seasoning & time to cook on the presidential grill? Is 2028 lookin’ more like 2032 or beyond?

WSJ columnist Allysia Finley stopped short of saying our VP’s presidential hopes have recently taken big hits in her column, “JD Vance and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week.” But in her reference to the children’s book of the same title, she makes clear the obvious: “The cease-fire he negotiated with the Iranian regime [has too quickly gone up] in smoke … His foreign policy of ‘retreat and defeat’ took another blow after Russia banned diesel exports due to fuel shortages caused by Ukraine’s long-range strikes on its refineries.” In both instances, Vance has eloquently argued with No. 47, Congress and the American people that the Iranians were “ready” to deal & the US would be foolish to side with Ukraine over Russia. He even suggested those who disagreed with his take on those world events were “naïve.” Yet, anyone want to bet what Mr. Trump is thinking about his VP’s advice now that Iran is again plotting HIS demise while Ukraine is kicking the oil out of Russia?

To “cap it off,” Finley continued, “hedge-fund magnate Ken Griffin, a major Republican donor, said he’d favor SoS Marco Rubio in a matchup between the two for the 2028 GOP presidential nomination. Oof. Unlike Alexander, the VP’s travails are a result of his own doing.” Yet, many folks forget Vance is 41 yrs old compared to Rubio’s 55, who BTW, is very popular right now because he can’t seem to do anything wrong. In historical context Vance is still very much a political neophyte who naturally has a lot to learn. Judging from watching him closely these past 2 years, I’d wager he'd be the first to agree. Among Vance’s main strengths are arguably his willingness as well as ability to THINK & grow. (Unlike recent VPs Walz & Harris?) If so, those are still presidential qualities down the road in my book. Say 2032 or 2036?
