CNN Discovers New Owners Nix Crap Plus

Any wonder CNN+ streaming service is being shuttered a month after intro thanks to more crappy content than John Kerry can shovel on emitting cow dung? Chris Wallace, who left a lucrative gig at Fox for this fiasco, may have made dumbest career-tanking move in journalism history.

As the WSJ noted, the move comes just days after CNN’s parent company, AT&T/WarnerMedia, was taken over by Discovery. The new owners’ eyes must have bugged out when they saw shows like “Jake Tapper’s Book Club” and “Parental Guidance With Anderson Cooper.” The newspaper said a big mistake was in not offering access to regular CNN programming like “The Lead With Jake Tapper” and “Anderson Cooper 360”, but, please, even if “contract” obligations prevented it, those “news” shows have been getting lousy audience ratings, too.

Perhaps closer to the mark was the $5.99-a-month subscription price to see CNN’s crappy content. If Netflix lost 200K subscribers thanks to growing competition in the streaming business, what did CNN think it was going to run into?
