Did Karmelo Forget Jesus’ Law of Reconciliation?

Letter to Romans: “Fundraiser fallout grows as spending by Karmelo Anthony family comes to light” … Time to ask if there’s a connection between a youngster sticking a knife into another’s heart AND “sympathizers” giving $634K to get him off?

Karmelo of course was just convicted of murder, which his lawyers are appealing as murder convicts almost always do (and will likely lose as most always do). But the youngster’s mom, as Fox News reports had set up a “fund me” page to pay for legal expenses & family security (in light of ugly threats). The six-figure collection apparently raised some eyebrows tho the bill from the losing lawyers may be higher. Fox says mom’s funding page is now down but seems to have been replaced by another relative. As to the first Q, the myriad of news accounts on the murder trial still makes it impossible for most folks to fathom why Karmelo went to the fatal tent in the first place or simply didn’t leave when repeatedly asked to.

I now wonder if, taken together, the fateful encounter & donation fury afterward, suggest Karmelo (and his “supporters”) were both primed to do what they did. True, most white folks can’t grasp why some blacks say the prosecution is/was about “race,” and of course it’s about the plain language of the law. Yet we hear some white as well as black politicians, even members of Congress, shrieking the race card for political purposes. Somebody’s been hearing & believing that message, including a 17-year-old kid. His donors too. If so, perhaps all that transpired was inevitable in our victim culture. It’s as if our frail human nature too often unthinkingly overlooks Jesus’ simple, common sense Law of Reconciliation: “If your brother has anything against you … be reconciled with him … Settle with any opponent quickly while on the way to court … Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge & the judge will hand you over to the guard & you will be thrown into prison …”
