Does Kohberger Know He’s a Trapped Rat?

Letter to Philippians: A psychologist argues Bryan Kohberger’s post-conviction relief bid (after admitting he murdered 4 collegiates) exploits a “flawed plea deal” that didn’t make him commit to the details. Prosecutors say, “no matter, once a liar, always a liar.” I say, “Cheese, BK’s a trapped rat.”

It can also be argued the prosecution’s biggest mistake, if any, was in letting the confessed mass-murderer dodge the death penalty by entering an uncontested guilty plea. The state had more than enough evidence to convict & execute without a confession. Not least of which is his DNA on a knife sheath found in the bed with two of the four University of Idaho students he admitted to murdering in cold blood. True, without an Instagram vid catching the accused in the act, it wasn’t a slam dunk. The defense surely had some holes in the prosecution’s case to present to any jury. That’s almost always the case. But the forensic psychologist told Fox News last year & again recently Kohberger’s plea deal was part of his calculated “long game” that now left him room to “reshape his story” as he “returns to court despite having waived his right to appeal. “It was a real mistake … by the DA’s office to enter into this deal, because now here we are, putting the victims through all this again with having gotten nothing,” argued Dr. Kris Mohandie, a police psychologist.

I dunno. The heartbroken families will have to live with this nightmare no matter what happens down the road. And Kohberger did get hung with four consecutive sentences of life without the chance of parole, plus 10 more years to boot. His newly filed petition for post-conviction relief based on “ineffective counsel that misled him” -- coupled with the promise he’s innocent after all -- is an almost certain loser. It has as much chance of succeeding as a Chicago Cubs Superbowl appearance. Moreover, Kohberger can stall & knock himself out trying to “reshape his story” all he wants. I’d say he’s still as close to toast as a slice of Butternut bread at the toaster’s 2-minute mark. Meanwhile, if Kohberger somehow magically gets the plea deal withdrawn, he’ll only have stabbed himself in his own back with another shot at the death penalty. How else to describe a trapped rat’s future?
