Get Krispy Kremed at McD?

Oh, horror! Fox News reports Krispy Kreme has paused its nationwide doughnut rollout with McDonald’s after disappointing sales. We’re told the deployment was off & consumers, worried about the economy, pulled back. Yo, maybe the dinky, sugary, greasy balls were too $$$?

I happen to like Krispy Kremes, even though my doctor says they can shoot my cholesterol & vital signs into unchartered territory. But, then, I looked into how much the pastry delights would cost an average schnook like me. Apparently, I discovered, a single Krispy Kreme doughnut at some outlets offering them costs about $2.22. I almost choked and even a cup of my favorite McDonald’s coffee couldn’t wash that price down my esophagus. Fox said a box of six can typically go for $10.99 and a box of six “special” doughnuts (presumably with colored frosting & maybe even some candied sprinkles) sells for $12.99.

Laughable? Now, McDonald’s, take your Krispy Kreme. Please.
