Heard, Depp & Musk In Tale Of 2 ACLUs?

Mentally & financially challenged Amber Heard is in hot water because she allegedly has given less than half of a $3.5M pot pledged to the ACLU from the Depp divorce settlement, which will presumably be used for “charitable” purposes as the actress had directed. Really?

In the bizarre $50M defamation trial between the former spouses, ACLU’s general counsel testified she’s being dunned, er, requested to make good her generous charitable pledge because … even Depp & ex-boyfriend Elon Musk combining to cough up $1.3M for her isn’t the whole enchilada ... & the ACLU is understandably concerned with her explanation she’ll make good her promise AFTER she gets over some bumps in her financial road. Maybe worth noting is Ms. Heard’s stated desire to help out what she thinks is a “charity” & the need for the ACLU to be more careful in HOW IT REALLY USES THAT HEARD MONEY when it gets it, i.e., after getting caught drafting the op ed that Heard had supposedly penned which, LED TO DEPP’s DEFAMATION CASE.

You see, the ACLU is actually made up of two organizations, the political lobbying wing, and the charitable Foundation, “supporting our litigation, communications, advocacy & public education efforts” in the fight for “equality & freedom.” Clear as mud? Why the distinction that can understandably get blurred? Because POLITICAL organizations don’t get tax exempt status. It’s a workaround many other (right or left) political, er, charitable organizations employ. Not pointing a single finger. Just wondering whether Ms. Heard’s concern about helping “those who can’t afford to defend themselves” is what the ACLU Foundation is really still about given its recent & oft-criticized history of “litigation advocacy and public education” … & not about political agendas favored by the biggest donors?
