Mich’s Moore Plea Bargains & Gets Less

Letter to Ephesians: Disgraced & fired Michigan U football coach said, “I’m good” after plea bargaining felony charges down to misdemeanors & his mouthpiece said he’s glad to “put this behind him.” Huh? Think he could get a next gig, even at a bleeding heart Minnesota?
No doubt, Coach Sherrone Moore is hoping Christian forgiveness can be enlisted as an ally and he does have the remarkable comeback story of Pat Fitzgerald, Michigan State’s new head coach. You may recall Fitz had been trashed unfairly by Northwestern U over a hazing scandal & he now has been resurrected as MSU’s football savior. Yet a glaring difference between Moore & Fitzgerald is that Fitzgerald left with dignity & was largely exonerated in the Chicago press, while a married father of three Moore is forever saddled with images in the public’s mind of allegedly threatening to take his life with a butter knife while lying prostrate in his illicit lover’s apartment. True or not, plea bargained sentencing or not, Moore is going to have one hell of a time shaking this odious affair of his (and he still could get a 6-month jail term in April).
And yet that plea bargaining away of felony charges that included stalking was likely a great job by his female attorney (it’s always wise for an accused male like this to have a tearful lady pleading his case.) The Fox News coverage says Ellen Michaels, Esq. pitched to the prosecution & the judge in justifying the plea deal that “All the charges against Mr. Moore were not supported by facts and law.” Ok. Moore had simply been invited to share breakfast with his “friend” & had been buttering his toast when he developed a migraine and you know the rest … or not. Regardless, this is one time even a plea bargain is most likely going to remain a loss for the coach.
