NYC Gets Back Boots On Ground Armed With Cameras

Crime-riddled NYC’s Mayor Eric Adams promises “We will have boots on the ground on every block in this city” sounds much like Chicago’s 1960s law and order Mayor Richard J. Daley without the “shoot to kill” rioters order but armed with body cams Da Mayor never had.

Fox News reports Mayor Adams’ just-announced “crime-fighting initiatives was triggered by “escalating gunplay & the flow of illegal [weapons] following recent violence against police officers that killed [two] last week.” In a City Hall speech, the mayor noted, “The gun violence crisis has hit New York City painfully … [and] … We are far from alone.”

So far, five NYPD officers have been shot in less than 30 days and “a slew of high-profile killings” of young people have rocked the city. This time, a domestic violence suspect opened deadly fire without warning on a pair of responding police officers & before a third shot & killed the shooter. Civil rights activists who say NYPD plainclothes cops too often & unnecessarily “target” racial minorities had demanded the dismantling of the city’s specialized unit & then-Mayor Bill de Blasio complied. Mayor Adams said his officers will wear body cameras & any who overstep their authority will “face consequences.”
