The Conservative press has noted how POTUS & his cabinet have “juggled crises” by making “visibility” a top priority, but Transportation Sec Pete Buttigieg may take the cake by taking a 2-month parental leave … and no one knew it.
As Fox recently reported, the former controversial mayor of South Bend Ind had taken leave of his job responsibilities as the national supply chain crisis took off in mid-August to care for his newborn twins. Yet, “the media wasn’t notified until two months later of the fact … and, no one noticed … or seemed to care. Apparently, Buttegieg’s office told Politico last week he was “mostly offline” for an entire month “except for major agency decisions” bigger than who’s getting the deli sandwiches at the lunch hour. Fox also reminded Buttigieg “did not appoint an interim secretary during his leave, even while supply chain disruptions across the country have left shelves empty ahead of the crucial holiday shopping period.” He recently conceded to CNN the problems will continue into 2022.
An incensed Sen. Tom Cotton summed his shock concisely in a Tweet: “Pete Buttigieg was completely unqualified to serve as Secretary of Transportation.”
