Parliamentarian On Dem Alien Plan: “3 Strikes Are Out”

Biden mouthpiece bitterly disagreed with Senate’s Parliamentarian who for the 3d time ruled against Dems illegally shoe-horning their illegal alien plan in their $2-5T budget plan, even though “Say it ain’t so, Joe” might concede in baseball it’s “3 strikes & you’re out.”
As the WSJ noted, the Dem proposal comes down to providing “work permits & deportation protection to millions” of noncitizens, most of whom are “living in the U.S. illegally.” The “relief” is billed as “temporary”, as in “for 5-years”; yet once such government largess is granted, it’s historically been hard to not “renew” it until “temporary” becomes “permanent.” As the Senate parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough again noted, the Dems are trying to advance their immigration agenda in the budget reconciliation bill and, thereby skirt an expected Senate filibuster by Republicans, even though “chief among reconciliation’s restrictions is that measures in the bill must relate directly to the federal budget”. Reportedly, Ms. MacDonough particularly objected to the latest Dem proposal to let immigrants to get green cards without any discretion to turn anyone down.
“These are substantial policy changes with lasting effects, just like those we previously considered,” the parliamentarian wrote in a short legal brief. It was a classic “three strikes you’re out,” and “if you don’t like it, go to the showers” message.
