Pope Won’t Confess Losing Migrant War

Letter to Romans: Pope Leo again called on the West to be more kind to migrants “seeking a better life” while ignoring the West has been overly generous to them. Hasn’t the West’s kindness resulted in an abusive invasion from the East & even the naïve EU’s finally had enough?

Fox News reports how there were “‘Send them back’ chants that rocked European Parliament after landslide vote to speed up deportations.” We’re told the lawmakers approved a “sweeping overhaul of the European Union’s migrant return system, the latest sign that Europe is moving toward tougher immigration enforcement after years of growing anger and frustration from voters.” The Parliament vote was 418-218 to approve the Return Regulation, a measure designed to speed up the removal of third-country nationals who are staying illegally in the European Union.” Sound familiar? Doesn’t the EU’s get serious about deporting illegal aliens mirror President Trump’s Executive Order shooting for the same return to sanity in addressing the illegal immigration crisis here in the States … after 4 years of an open border under Biden?

Pope Leo, who hails from Democratic Machine-controlled Chicago, will have none of Trump’s border shutdown. He’s notably gone back & forth criticizing President Trump’s stance on immigration control. In a recent speech before the tomb honoring the first American saint & patron of immigrants, His Holiness again reminded His flock (and No. 47) of the importance of “serving migrants.” Yet, serving & being servitude are two different thngs. Having been a priest in my own SouthSide/suburban Chicago stomping grounds, Leo surely knows how overwhelmed USA & other Western countries are taking care of their own poor; let alone millions of foreigners illegally entering another’s country in the hopes of securing “a better life” that too often means “free stuff” on the host taxpayers’ dime. As it happens, I was reading in Matthew Jesus’ urging His disciples to “take the plank out of their own eye” before telling others to do the same. Wouldn’t Pope Leo’s message ring truer if it included some directive to migrants to obey the laws & culture of their target hosts?
