Trump & Biden Are Daley’s & Royko’s Kinda Guy

Letter to Romans: Chicago’s late great Mayor Richard J. Daley often told reporters to “kiss my coattails” when responding to allegations of his Machine patronage ways. Imagine if the late great columnist Mike Royko was asked about today’s “No Kings” taunts against Nos. 46 & 47...

I still recall famed columnist describing another such Daley quote when asked why he gave a sweetheart city contract to his insurance agent son: “If I can’t help my sons, then anyone who doesn’t like it can kiss my a**.” If he were also alive today, Royko would likely have related similar parables about President Joe Biden’s epic patience & generosity with Hunter & President Donald Trump’s lavish use of … and business deals to … his sons. When it comes to Joe, the columnist would similarly satirize the aging president’s excuse making for his son’s pathetic foreign business dealings. Trump would most certainly also be called out for his blind faith in his offspring, however, effective they’ve been in making such deals. BOTH of da Bosses would have been roasted for pardoning a veritable river of possible criminals … in their own parties.

But above all, the author of 1971 best seller “Boss,” couldn’t stand hypocrisy. Among Democrats & Republicans alike. He could have been counted on going bonkers upon hearing Democrats wailing “no one is above the law” when a Trump was law-fared to death or getting impeached for supposedly being a Russian agent … but claim foul when the favor was returned. And Royko’s pen would have gotten as salty as an Utz Pretzel when Trump was accused of being a “King” for trying to de-nuke Iran’s Pasha-like Mullahs. Then again, Trump would have been compared to Monarch Daley himself who once issued a “shoot to kill” order to quell race riots, especially after he promised to “annihilate Iran’s civilization.” Well, LOL, nobody’s perfect. Even Mike.
