Trump’s No Herbert but Lloyd Looms in Iran

Letter to Romans: Trump now says he cut the controversial Iran “deal” because he did not want to keep fighting & trigger an impending Great Depression ala Herbert Hoover; then he says if Iran keeps fighting he’ll “bomb the s*** out of ‘em” to avoid the “Lloyd George” tag.
As both President Hoover & Prime Minister Lloyd George found out the hard way when dealing with fanatics, “you can’t have your cake & eat it too.” Does anyone doubt by now that Iran’s jihadist regime will never stop trying to nuke the US, Israel & anyone who doesn’t bow to its religious beliefs & political agenda? That being the case, Trump's so-called deal with Iran is more accurately defined as a “mutual rope-a-dope,” in which both sides are basically stalling for time for almost the same reason: Iran wants to keep the fighting & negotiating to last past the US mid-terms, then, until the end of No. 47’s term in the hope they’ll get another naive Democrat to deal with. Meanwhile, knowing this, Trump is happy to play the same cat & mouse game until the US mid-terms in the hope the world’s economy will continue to hum, oil prices plummet & maybe the GOP maintains control of Congress.
At that point, Iran will still be threatening to close Hormuz & Trump can finally kiss off his unfulfilled deal with only two options left. (He won’t take the risk of putting significant number of boots on the ground.) Instead, as he’s just promised, he’ll either (Option One) “bomb the s***” out of Iran’s energy industry or he’ll (Option Two) reinstitute the blockade of Hormuz & have his navy “bomb the s***” out of Iran’s attempts to close Hormuz again. Herbert Hoover would have been economically challenged enough to pick Option One & trigger a Depression. Trump, who is no Herbert Hoover let alone Lloyd George, will more likely pick Option Two because it’s most likely to succeed with lowest risk of casualties while still “making US a fortune.”
