White Sox Mgr Flags Giant Anthem Protest

This CUBS fan LOVED WHITE SOX MGR La Russa saying it was "inappropriate" for Giants’ Mgr to protest our national anthem since it’s not about us playing kids' game for $ but THEM (our fallen heroes).

Wait. I LOVED Tony’s reaction, even though he’s ALSO an ex-CARDINAL manager, making him doubly toxic to a CUBS fan? It goes to show you how All-American we ALL are underneath, or can be, even though SF's Skipper Gabe Kapler explains in an op ed he just thinks “we’re headed in the wrong direction” after the Uvalde shooting tragedy.

Yet, La Russa couldn’t have countered better when he diplomatically explained protesting the national anthem is an insult to the men & women who served & died in the US military to make it possible to watch men make millions playing a kids’ game. “I think [Kapler’s] exactly right to be concerned … with what’s happening in our country. Where I disagree is the flag & anthem are not an appropriate place to try to voice your objections … Some of [our troops’] courage comes from what the flag means to them & when they hear the anthem. You need to understand what the veterans think when they hear the anthem or see the flag. And the cost they paid & their families [to serve us all]. And if you truly understand that, I think it’s impossible not to salute the flag & listen to the anthem.”
