Will Blind West Get Its Head Out Of Its Butt?

A new book argues a too-self-critical Western Civilization has become its own worst enemy, but has its hyper-active Christian conscience also blinded it through the ages to the real evil lurking in the shadows of global history’s many Holocausts … or, supposed shock over Russia’s Ukraine invasion?

Author & Fox News contributor, Douglas Murray just published “War on the West,” which argues how our own “anti-West” movement (e.g., via such “deconstruction” theories as globalism) has “moved from the fringes of academia into the mainstream” so that “today, many Americans are convinced we are an irredeemably evil nation full of inherently racist people.” Of course, it’s all terribly wrong as well as delusional. But, meanwhile, yesterday’s headlines were dominated by news of Russia cutting gasoline sales to Poland & Bulgaria, thereby triggering “skyrocketing” prices in the EU. But, what did the Western press expect after reporting on Russian atrocities in Ukraine & the US/EU issuing punishing sanctions trying to break Russia’s economy? Did a “guilty conscience” persuade the West to belatedly help Ukraine with weaponry, yet naively think a warring Russia would say “thank you” rather than impose economic duress on the arms suppliers?

In Sweet Home Chicago, we’d opine something like, “It’s time the West got its head out of its butt.”
