Doofus Mouth or Doofus Record Could Doom McAuliffe?

In “Who’s Afraid of Donald Trump?”, the WSJ argues the Dems’ gubernatorial candidate, Terry McAuliffe, might not win because he has a doofus mouth, obsessively cheap shotting No. 45, hailing Stacey Abrams who claims HER election in Georgia was “stolen”, telling parents they have no right to tell teachers what to teach & most recently that “diversity” is more important than “math & English.”

Agreed to the extent the editors think the one-time governor of Virginia has a doofus mouth. But, they are misreading the real reason McAuliffe is in a cliff hanger of a race with the GOP’s candidate, Glenn Youngkin. That is, a growing number of Virginians are simply remembering what kind of governor McAuliffe was back in 2014-18.

Forget the earlier accusations of being Bill Clinton’s “bag man” and the more recent scandals that almost got the man indicted in a federal corruption investigation since the forgiving Virginians elected the current governor best known for allegedly wearing black face next to a hooded KKK impersonator at a med school party. What many thinking aka Independent Virginians are having the most trouble getting over was McAulliffe’s record as governor, which included declining public schools, a 43% spike in murders and a stagnating economy that trailed peer states.
