Letter to Romans: Of course, few will like every opinion by the US Supreme Court in the last 2 years BUT only legal scholars jaded by partisanship would deny “The Justices are doing a job worthy of America’s 250” while restoring the Founding Fathers’ Constitution …
That, is the gist of the WSJ’s editorial board applauding the Highest Court in 2026 despite the predictable whiners among us as it observed: “What [exactly] is the Supreme Court’s project [or agenda after all]? The answer should be no great mystery, since the Justices explain their thinking in detail, including in 633 pages of opinions released this week alone. Yet the air is filled with lazy ... claims that the conservative majority is trying to aggrandize its power or that of President Trump. READ THE JUSTICES and it becomes clear they are focused on the Constitution and the law. They are protecting ordered liberty, correcting deviations from the Founders’ design and taking the Bill of Rights seriously.”
The editors reject just as loudly as the whiners the too common talking point that the Court has suddenly become “partisan,” ironically, after the liberal majority’s distorting partisanship of the Obama-Biden Eras. They opine in conclusion, “The [current] Court isn’t partisan, much less MAGA, and its constitutional cleanup is a tremendous accomplishment for the country …” Here’s a foaming (at the mouth) Sam Adams Boston Lager to that!
