Is ABA to Blame for Our Psychotic Lawyers?

Letter to Ephesians: Trump Administration is considering a proposal to strip liberal ABA of its lawyer accreditation monopoly & make it easier to get a cheaper law license faster? What? Do away with Dems’ liberal, er, legal cattle prod? No longer license psychotics?

As the Fox News story related, “The Trump administration is expected to decide by late December whether to strip the American Bar Assn’s law school accrediting arm of federal recognition, a move that would not automatically end the ABA’s accreditation of law schools or change state bar admission rules BUT could accelerate states’ efforts to approve alternative paths to becoming a lawyer.” I prefer the days of Abraham Lincoln. He didn’t need a law degree & for all we know passed an “oral” interview after slipping a saw buck to the inquisitor. But that’s just me. Given the ugly public opinion of lawyers in general, something probably does need to be done to how we now license lawyers. What I meant by suggesting the current ABA-driven system’s licensing psychotics is this: It starts in today’s indoctrinating law schools; it’s fueled by insane bar exams; & it turns many idealistic students into crazed progressive practitioners or lib politicians.

The cost of going to 3-years of law school after 4 years of college was way too expensive for my family so I worked full as well as part time jobs while earning my JD. Before becoming a lawyer, I worked all hours of the day & night as a Teamster, paint line scrubber & school district janitor. Sleep deprivation & debilitating migraine headaches aside, I was fortunate to attend a still-conservative private Catholic law school & be spared the brainwashing liberal professors at Chicago’s state-run schools. But I still had to take the same Illinois State Bar exam over two grueling days. I will never forget meeting up with buddies at a Lincoln Park bar afterwards. We didn’t agree on our answers to a single exam Q. We got drunk thinking we all failed. My results letter came a month later. The envelope was wrinkled & looked like the mail man had stomped on it after a dog had given it a urination shower. I twitched. This, I thought, must have been tossed in the ABA's "losers" batch. I opened the envelope … PASS! But I never quite lost the “ABA tic”.
