Is It Fair 4 Dems to Play “Katie Bar the Door”?

Letter to Ephesians: Dems made much ado about Trump’s new press secretary once suggesting she’s a practicing lawyer as well as referring to No. 47 as her “husband.” Well, maybe she’s no Caroline. But neither is Katie a “Doctor” Abdul El-Sayed running for the Senate. Today, she's just "Gone" ...

Take it from a past media manager for several international law firms, Katie Zacharia would have been well advised to laugh off her first couple of days on the job, especially in an abbreviated WH press conference “introducing” her to the Swamp’s media mobsters. Her gaffes were undeniably whoppers, yet petty in the larger scheme of things. On her relationship with Trump, she could have simply chuckled & said “I really do need to get it straight as to who’s my daddy, husband & boss.” She’d have had the WH press corps in her pocket while disarming the sharks. As for her alluding to being a practicing lawyer, despite failing a bar exam, it may have been technically right in that she has the law degree from Pepperdine & interned for an overseas firm; but it’s just not considered appropriate in the profession to attach the “Attorney at Law” sign until examined successfully & sworn in. I, for instance, practiced initially as a solo, law firm, corporate & government lawyer BUT was always careful to make it clear when managing media relations for several mega-firms thereafter that that work did NOT involve the “practice” of law. Likewise, the Dems could have been mindful of the hypocrisy in calling Katie out for her one deflection when they CONSTANTLY defend their Michigan Senate candidate for REPEATEDLY insisting, he’s a “doctor.” If Jill Biden can, why can’t Abdul? Not cool.

Katie's follow up interview on Hannity’s Fox News show was yet another bad omen. She was defensive & rambled in addressing the above criticisms. As Katie tried to explain, she was thrown into a vastly complex job with little prepping. Katie was obviously smart & could be a fast study. But, apparently overwhelmed, only she could lighten up a bit, be herself, and not try to be the instant dynamo, a veritable encyclopedia her predecessor, Caroline Leavitt, was. If she did, she could succeed, license to practice law or not. But she could not. By Thursday morning, Trump told her as kindly as possible, "You don't have to do this, you know." By that afternoon, Fox reported "Katie is transitioining out of the job."
