No Such Luck in Nobel Knowing Peace or Genocide?
Letter to Philippians: Nobel Swedes again soiled themselves by awarding its “Peace Prize” to Navi Pillay, the hate filled lawyer & judge who’s 4th quarter in life has been dedicated to anti-Semitism & redefining the term “genocide” to exclude butchering terrorists …
As the WSJ editorial board opined, “The last thing the award to Pillay will do is promote the cause of peace … It’s possible the Nobel Committee will someday bestow its peace prize on a less worthy recipient … but we doubt it. The Oslo worthies this year have honored an 85-year-old South African whose career has been marked above all by hatred for Israel & the Jews who support it.” Ironically, Pillay’s journey to fame … and infamy … is a long & winding road. Writes the WSJ: “Pillay began her life’s work as an attorney defending opponents of apartheid, but that cruelty was defeated two generations ago. The Nobel committee is honoring her career since then devoted to attacking the Jewish state & twisting international law to distort the meaning of ‘genocide’ toward that end. She made her reputation as a judge on various UN-linked courts, including the international court that adjudicated war crimes in Rwanda & the International Criminal Court. The latter, created in 20002, fast became a vehicle for transnational bureaucrats to accuse the US & Israel of imagined crimes. This is the reason the US on Friday sanctioned the entire ICC & Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said he wants to ‘dismantle’ it.”
As the editors say, Pillay served as the UN’s High Commissioner for human rights from 2008 to 2014 so she “might be expected to know the difference between genocide and a defensive military campaign against a homicidal adversary that hid behind civilians in mosques, schools & hospitals.” But, as the op ed sadly concludes, “No such luck.”
